General and Pathological Virology Laboratory

The general and pathological virology laboratory is responsible for basic laboratory studies through the biological analysis of various samples.

Its purpose is to carry out basic virology studies by performing the diagnosis, classification and typification, with the purpose of providing scientific and technical information, to be applied for the promotion, prevention, cure, and recovery of the most prevalent viral diseases in Peru.

Goals:

  • Carry out basic and/or pathological studies of various diseases and their viral etiological agents.
  • Determine biochemical and histopathological markers, with implication in viral infectious diseases.
  • Carry out studies for the typification of the etiological agent, through the integration of the determination of molecular markers and other virological parameters.

Viral Immunology Laboratory

The viral immunology laboratory is in charge of carrying out immunity studies through the biological analysis of various samples both at the cellular and molecular level.

Its purpose is to carry out immunological studies, focused on diagnostic, typification and marker aspects.

Goals:

  • Carry out diagnostic, clinical and/or epidemiological studies of various viral diseases.
  • Determine genetic, immunological and immunopathological molecular markers, with implications in viral infectious diseases.
  • Carry out studies for typification of the etiological agent, by integrating the determination of molecular markers and other immunological parameters.

Molecular Biology Laboratory

This unit is in charge of carrying out laboratory, clinical and/or epidemiological studies, through the biological analysis of various samples at both cellular and molecular level.

Its purpose is to carry out studies of cellular and molecular biology, carrying out aspects of diagnosis, classification, and typification related to viral diseases.

Goals:

  • Carry out molecular, clinical and/or epidemiological diagnostic studies of various viral diseases.
  • Determine the molecular genetics and sequencing aspects of the various agents.
